Digipak

Promo pack a promo pack is something that is put together to send to a record label to promote your music they must be very eye catching as record labels probably get 100's of these a week. Digipak Digipak is a a paperboard or card case with a plastic tray to keep the cd/dvd sold to fans. The digipak should have the same themes as the music video as lots of artists keep the same themes throughout for example their album cover,music video and their costume that they wear on tour will all be linked by a theme. For my lady gaga digipak i will keep the same themes and have her with over the top make up and costumes in both of them.

This is my digipak. i have kept to the themes of my music video as it is set in a council estate. I put my digipak onto my facebook page to get some feed back on it and these are the coments that it got.

"I like the images but i think the colour of the writing is a bit boring could of used a few more colours"

This video is very strange and very stylised which fits in with lady gaga image very well and the costumes of this are very important i think as she is really into fashion and would of thought about them a lot so this is something we will have to think about in our video. I think this video is aimed at a very big audience group as lady gaga her self has a massive fan base. I think all the dancing is very appearling to a female audience but there are lots of shots with her half naked which would of been aimed at a male audience.

This video the same as the other one has a lot of dancing in it which fits very well becuase of the song title. This i think is set at a part for some of it so i think that this is aimed at a slightly older age group then the other video. I think that dancing is a very big part of all of lady gaga songs and think we will need to look into this for our video. Fashion aswell has come through in this video.

the genre of the music is alternative rock. The video is set in the 1930/40's. The video portrays the meaning of the song as they are dancing. It is set in an old American bar and they are playing poker so i think this video is appealing to older people aged around 16-26.

The genre is alternative rock and the video is the band just walking around dressed up and them playing a gig which doesnt have much relation to the actual song. i think that this is aimed at a slightly younger than the others and it is quite happy and upbeat. The video repressents the band in a very light and nice way.

target audience of artist/band

i feel that lady gaga has a very large target audience as she appeals to lots of people because of her very unique style. Lots of her fan base are younger people but it does range right up to people in their 30's. Lady gaga has appeared in the "Rolling stone" magazine many times and been on the front cover a number of times. The media kit of this magazine shows that the range of her audience is very large Also shows that the age of people that buy this magazine is 18 to 49 which makes up 86% of buyers and that 58% of buyers are men and 42% are women. She always has a large following in the gay community. Her style being linked with dance and electro makes it very main stream. She has also been in magazines like Q who are aimed at a rock audience. This shows that she is not just appealing to the pop scene.

Lady Gaga hasn't just been in music magazines but she has also featured in magazines like vogue and In which are both fashion magazines which shows that shes isn't just a pop star but a fashion icon as well.

after looking at Lady Gaga facebook it shows that she has male and female fans and she have over 19million fans which is the largest fan base in facebook this clearly shows that she has a large fan base of people all over the world.

I made a facebook page for my magazine and got people to comment on it. Lots of people commented on how the colours where good and how it really appealed to the target audience.

I changed his photo in photoshop. By changing colour to yellow and make the top of the guitar. I think this worked very well because it gave the front cover. I choose yellow because it was a light colour that showed up all the shadows in the picture and i think it contrasts with my red themes on the from cover.

i changed this picture in photoshop to make it black and white to fit in with my black and white scheme of the double page spread.

for this picture i changed it to black and white and i changed the colour of the guitar in photoshop which i think worked nice because of the yellow and red theme i kept in the front cover.

For my contents page i kept my colour scheme but i used something out of the NME contents page which was the sub headings down the right hand side which shows whats in the magazine.

for my front cover i used red,black,yellow for my main colour scheme. The NME front cover i researched earlier in the project used the same kind of colour scheme but they used gold instead of yellow. Think these colours fit in well with this genre music.

one of the things i liked about this double page spread was the big picture on one side which i put into my magazine but i didn't make the picture the whole size on my double page spread. I also kept my black colour scheme which i think is the right colour for a indie magazine.

I think my magazine is very like some other the other magazines on sale today. My colour scheme i think fits the genre i am doing and all the magazines that you can buy on this genre have the same kind of colour schemes. Also i think my images on my magazine show how the magazine is aimed at a certain social group. The band are wearing the kind of clothes that would be worn by someone who like indie music. I also think the darker colours used also show how the magazine is mainly aimed at the indie music genre.

i think i appealed to my target audience by my images of the band i used with the clothes they where wearing. Also this band being in the age group of the target audience i think it helps for people this age to get connected with the magazine.














i also think my font for my mast head is very appealing to the target audience because of its rock theme to it.

I think most new agents would stock my magazine including places like tesco, asda, waitrose and specialist record shop that specialise in indie music.

I learnt a lot from photoshop and i think it helped me to make my magazine what it. The thing it helped me the most was to change the photos to the right colours i wanted and to add effects that i couldn't of done without photoshop. Indesign helped me a lot and really helped me realise what was possible. It really helped me to work out what i could fit onto the page with out overloading it and making it look to busy.

I choose to take this photo like this because it is very casual and its just the band relaxing talking to each other and i thought that would fit perfectly into my double page spread. I choose the white background with just to keep it plain and simple. I thinking having them all smiling makes them seem a lot more approachable and it makes the readers feel comfortable instead of them all looking angry. I think there clothes represent the genre of music they play (Indie).

I choose the low angle shot to give the impression of the band having power. This is a more serious shot with them all looking at the camera which i thought would work very well for my front cover. i choose for the guitar to be at the front to show that they are a band and its quite a classic band picture so i thought i would use it. I made that band stand staggered to exaggerate there indie image. I didn't change there clothes or image as i think it fit the genre well. I picked the lighting to just light up the band to keep the focus on them and a again i kept the
